I had always wanted to experience the Himalayas, but I wanted a journey where I could enjoy nature slowly instead of simply visiting a tourist place. That is how I decided to go on the Har Ki Dun trek. The journey started from Sankri, and the moment we reached the village, I felt that we had entered a completely different world. The air was fresh, the mountains were beautiful, and everything around us felt peaceful. That evening, we prepared our bags and talked about the journey ahead. I was excited, but I was also a little nervous because I had never walked such a long mountain trail before. The next morning, we finally started walking. The trail passed through beautiful forests, small streams and quiet mountain paths. The Supin River flowed beside us, and its sound made the walk even more enjoyable. Sometimes we talked and laughed with each other, and sometimes we walked silently while looking at the mountains. After several hours, we stopped to rest. My feet were tired, but one look at the scenery made me forget the pain. As we continued following our Har Ki Dun trek itinerary, we reached beautiful Himalayan villages like Osla and Seema. Osla was one of my favourite places because of its traditional wooden houses and peaceful surroundings. We met local people, smiled at children and enjoyed a warm cup of tea before continuing our journey. The further we walked, the more beautiful the landscape became. The forests slowly opened, and the huge mountains started appearing in front of us. Everyone was tired by then, but nobody wanted to give up because we knew the valley was getting closer. Finally, we reached Har Ki Dun, and the first view completely surprised me. The valley was wide and peaceful, surrounded by magnificent Himalayan peaks. The Swargarohini range in the distance made the scenery look almost unreal. I took out my phone to capture the view, but after a few photographs, I put it away. I wanted to enjoy the moment with my own eyes. We sat together, ate our food and talked about everything that had happened during the trek. That evening was one of the most peaceful evenings I can remember. There was no traffic, no office work and no city noise. There were only mountains, fresh air and the sound of nature around us. The return journey was tiring, but it also felt special because we had become familiar with the trail. When we finally reached Sankri again, I realised how quickly the journey had passed. The Har Ki Dun trek had started as an adventure, but it ended as a beautiful life experience. I returned home with tired legs, hundreds of photographs and countless memories. More importantly, I learned that sometimes we need to leave our busy lives behind and spend a little time in nature. Har Ki Dun gave me exactly that—a chance to slow down, breathe deeply and enjoy the simple beauty of the mountains.
